Kanchi Kamakshi temple or Kamakshi Amman temple.

It is a 12th Century temple in the heart of the town kanchipuram. “Ka” means Goddess Saraswati (God of Education), “Ma” means Goddess Lakshmi (God of Wealth), “Akshi” means Eye. The name in full refers to godessKamakshi with Goddess Saraswati and Goddess Lakshmi as her both eyesit is believed to be built by pallava kings in 6 century A.D.it is the only temple of goddess kamakshi in the city which is known as the city of thousand temples.
Ekambareswar Temple or Ekambaranathar Thirukoil

This temple is considered as one of the oldest and largest temple in the kanchipuram district .dedicated to hindu god shiva,it has many legends associated with it.was built by pallava kings in 6 centuary A.D and later rebuilt by the kings ofchola and vijayanagar dynasties.Ekambareswarar Temple : It is one of the Panchabootha Sthalam [five elements of Nature] representing Prithivi [Earth]. Ekam = one, Amaram= Mango tree meaning Single Mango Tree . The Single Mango Tree in the outer court is revered as most sacred and it is believed, if worshipped by childless couple, will be blessed with a child.Hence Lord Shiva is called as Ekambareswarar.
Sri kanchi Kailasanathar Temple

located on the banks of vedavat river this temple is dedicated to lord shiva.Pallava King Rajasimha (700 – 728 CE)also known as a Narasimhavarman IIstarted the work and Mahendravarman III completed it in the 8th century. It is made up of a Typical dravidian style of a Pyramidal Tower, pillared halls and a vestibule.the temple is an excellent example of dravidian architecture and is considered as the biggest sandstone temple in the world.More than 50 small shrines are enshrined in this temple complex.It is believed, by visiting this temple, devotees get rid of the ill effects of Planet Ketu.
Sri Varadaraja Perumal Temple

Covering an area of 23 acres this tempe isalso known as Devarajaswami Temple or Hastagiri it is one of the three most visited temple in kanchipuram along with Ekambareswarar Templeand Kamakshi Amman Temple this temple is dedicated to lord vishnu and is considered as one of the most sacred place for lordvisnu worshippers.the temple was built by the chola king in 11th century A.D.Another significant thing about the temple are beautifulcarved lizards that are platted with gold. It is believed that those who worship ortouch the the lizards here in this temple would be relieved of all the side effects of lizards falling on them or any part of their body .
Ashtabujakaram Temple
It is an ancient temple dedicated to hindu god vishnu.The temple is known as ‘Ashtabujakaram’ or ‘eight handed’ as Lord Adhikesava Perumal idol have 8 hands holding 8 weapons.the temple is built in dravidian architectural style with a granite wall surrounding it.The temple is believed to have been built by the kings of Pallava dynasty of the late 8th century AD, with later contributions from Medieval Cholas and Vijayanagar kings.
